Riding as Sport for Disabled

Riding as a sport for Disabled is one category of the therapeutic Riding as well as the Hippo therapy and pedagogic Riding & Vaulting. Riding and Carriage driving is one of the few sports handicapped and non-handicapped people can do together. You will find 3 different categories of Riding for the Disabled:

1. Leisure time Sport

The majority of all Riders do this sport as a leisure time sport. In the center of attention the time together with the partner horse counts, the integration and the possibility to move with the help of horse. Doing this sport prevents them from injury which might come up due to the fewer movements they can do.

3. Carriage Driving

Especially people who have difficulties in walking will find great possibilities in Carriage Driving to do a sport in their leisure time. The carriage is – in general – quite easy to fit the special demands of the driver, so he can do this sport alone as much as his body allows him.
